Day 1 - Arrival in Kajaani
As you step off the plane at Kajaani Airport, the first thing you’ll notice is the crisp, fresh air filling your lungs and the sight of the beautiful snow-covered surroundings. If you have booked your transportation through us, you will be warmly welcomed at the airport and transported to your accommodation in Vuokatti, where you can check in and make yourself comfortable.
Once you’re settled, the choice is yours: perhaps you’ll want to relax and enjoy a hot drink in your cozy accommodation, or you might decide to explore the enchanting snowy landscapes nearby. A walk through the serene, snowy surroundings around Vuokatti will immerse you in Finland’s magical winter beauty. Enjoy a delightful lunch or dinner, savoring the local flavors. Take it easy and prepare for the exciting adventures that lie ahead in this enchanting destination.
Day 2 - eFatbike Adventures and snowy landscapes
Start your first full day in the exciting Vuokatti region, part of the stunning Arctic Lakeland, with a healthy and delicious breakfast. After that it’s time to gear up for your first adventure which starts at 11 AM.
You’ll be exploring the beautiful winter wonderland on eFatbike, a bike with extra-wide tires and an electric engine designed to make cycling through snowy forest trails both effortless and enjoyable. As you ride through the snow-covered landscape, you’ll be surrounded by serene beauty. Remember to stop to admire the stunning views, and of course, capture photos of the breathtaking scenery.
In the afternoon and evening, just sit back and enjoy free time at your own pace.
Day 3 - Thrill of speed on a snowmobile safari
Today is the day for one of the most thrilling excursions — a snowmobile safari through Vuokatti’s stunning winter wonderland! The adventure begins at 11:00 AM and transportation to the activity is self-arranged. This guided tour takes you in the middle of beautiful landscapes. Admire the snowy trees and rugged nature around you and enjoy the thrill of speed while driving across snow covered fields. On the way back, stop for a break to enjoy hot drinks and sweet snacks.
And after all that excitement, relaxing at Katinkulta Spa is the perfect way to end the day. The combination of warm pools, saunas, and the tropical ambiance inside is such a contrast to the icy world outside. Whether you’re enjoying the Roman pool or the atmospheric smoke sauna, it will be a perfect way to wrap up your active day. Enjoy your day of thrills and relaxation—as it will be unforgettable! Day 4 - Visit to a husky farm and dog sledding
Your final day in Vuokatti is packed with excitement and includes one of the area’s most popular winter activities!
Start your morning at a relaxed pace — enjoy a delicious breakfast and take your time to unwind. Then, pack your belongings and check out, leaving your luggage in storage for the day.
Your activity runs from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM: a visit to a husky farm with the chance to try dog sledding. Transportation is self-arranged. Once at the farm, our guide will give instructions on driving a dog sled. The trail winds through snow-covered fields and serene forest paths.
During the 6 km safari, you can switch drivers so everyone gets a turn. Afterwards, enjoy some hot Finnish berry juice and grilled sausages to warm up.
After the activity, make your own way back to the hotel, change clothes and perhaps have a meal at one of the hotel’s restaurants before heading to the airport. If you have booked transfer through us, you will be transported Kajaani Airport for your return flight. Safe travels!

There are a wide range of cross-country skiing routes and hiking trails available near the hotel. The hotel features two excellent restaurants, Restaurant Amarillo and Kainuu Restaurant Kippo, both offering a range of delicious flavors.

Discover the stunning winter wonderland of Vuokatti on an eFatbike. A three-hour eFatbike rental is the perfect way to enjoy winter! Choose from easy, flat trails or more challenging routes that take you over Vuokatti’s hills. The rental shop offers a range of bikes, including electric bikes, mountain bikes, hybrid bikes, and non-electric fat bikes. Children’s bicycles are also available, and a helmet is always included in the rental. With extra-wide tires and an electric motor, the eFatbike makes cycling through snowy forest trails effortless and enjoyable. As you ride through the snow-covered scenery, you’ll be surrounded by peaceful beauty.

Enjoy amazing winter scenery on a snowmobile safari! Your local guide will lead the way, when you drive safely into the winter wonderland by snowmobiles. Admire the snowy trees and rugged nature around you and enjoy the thrill of speed while driving across snow covered fields. On your way back you will stop for a break and enjoy hot drinks & sweet snacks. This safari suits well for beginners too. The route length is about 20 km.
Katinkulta Spa 2h
Katinkulta Spa has several child-friendly pools, water slides, a sauna area with Roman-style pools, and a cozy smoke sauna by a pond where you can swim even in winter. There is a separate children’s pool for the little ones. The water currents and caves in the pool area inspire to play, and the wooden bridges connecting the pools amidst palm trees provide the perfect setting for a playful adventure.
Husky farm visit and dog sledding (Self-drive) 2h
This magical husky safari a must-try experience in Vuokatti! Meet the friendly huskies, eager to guide you through snow-covered fields and peaceful forest trails. Midway through the safari, adults have the chance to switch drivers, ensuring that everyone gets an opportunity to experience the thrill of leading the dog team. Towards the end of the adventure, you’ll take a break to enjoy some warm Finnish berry juice and grilled sausages—perfect for warming up after the ride! The guides will share insights about the Alaskan huskies, their abilities, and life in the kennel, and there will be time for photos as well.
