Day 1 - Arrival in Kajaani
Your adventure begins with a warm welcome and check-in at either Hotel Kajanus or Manor House Hotel Karolineburg, where you will stay for three nights. Day 2 - Day Cruise to Ärjänsaari Island
On Thursday, after a delightful breakfast, it’s time to embark on a full-day cruise to Ärjänsaari Island. Enjoy breathtaking views of the lake and island landscapes while listening to stories about the island’s history. You’ll have an entire day to explore this picturesque island, with opportunities for hiking, swimming, and relaxing on the beautiful sandy beaches.

Day 3 - The ABC of Kayaking Tour
On Friday morning, join the ABC of Kayaking tour at 10 am. If you’ve always dreamed of kayaking but never had the chance, this is your opportunity to try it out! The 2-hour tour introduces you to the basics of kayaking and safety, led by an experienced instructor. You’ll learn the skills needed to confidently paddle on the lake and enjoy the beauty of Finnish nature.
After the tour, you will have time to explore Kajaani and its surroundings on your own.

Day 4 - Arctic Lake Experience & Sauna
On Saturday, you will leave Kajaani and head to Oulujärvi for a unique Arctic Lake Experience to spend a night in a floating igloo over the arctic lake. Enjoy the serene atmosphere of the lake, where you can relax in the comfort of your igloo and take in breathtaking natural surroundings. In the evening, enjoy a delightful dinner served inside the igloo, followed by a relaxing Finnish sauna experience. Take a refreshing dip in the lake and unwind on your private igloo terrace while watching the sunset.

Day 5 - Departure
On Sunday, after a memorable stay, check out from your accommodation and head to Kajaani Airport for your departure. If you’ve booked a transfer with us, we will ensure you are transferred to the airport in time for your flight. Safe travels and see you soon!

Hotel Kajanus offers comfortable accommodation in close proximity to the center of Kajaani.
All rooms are equipped with a TV, bathroom/WC, and free wireless internet access. Room rate also includes access to the customer sauna in the evening, free entry to the gym, and a generous breakfast.
You can relax at the Kaukavesi Aquatic Centre, located next to the hotel, or enjoy the scenic surroundings of the Kajaaninjoki River.
Parking is free for hotel guests and the hotel restaurant is open Monday to Saturday from 5 PM to 10 PM.

Accommodation option 2: Manor House Hotel Karolineburg
At the Manor House, the rooms are like its guests: individuals.
Accommodation options are spread between 2 separate buildings, all located on the fenced Manor House lands, protected by museum authorities. Manor House is from 1836. In the oldest building in the area, Pehtoorin Tupa (Manor Keeper’s house, 1835) you will find rooms that offer a hint of luxury and history in one interesting package. In the most recent building on the lands, the White House Inn (1949), you have everything you need for a simple stay in traditional hotel equipped rooms.
You will find a TV, an electric kettle with coffee/tea sets, a bathroom with shower, and most of our rooms also offer a private sauna!

Spending a night under the arctic sky in our premium level floating igloo, above the lake or ice, is a memorable experience. Depending on the season, you can spend the night enjoying the sounds of the ice or the waves.
Arctic Lake Experience igloo accommodation includes a fresh breakfast served to at the igloo. Accommodation includes also still water bottles, minibar, coffee&tea, tablewear and cooler. Igloo has air condition in summer and heater in the winter, so you can feel cosy and enjoy your stay in the unique environment.

Day Cruise to Ärjänsaari Island
Ärjänsaari island, the island of countless stories, is a stunning location surrounded by steep sandbanks. The island is also known as the gem of Lake Oulujärvi. On your way to Ärjänsaari island you can enjoy the open Lake Oulujärvi sceneries and listen to stories about the island’s history. If it happens to be a warm summer day, there is nothing quite like digging your feet into the burning island sand. Our crew will tell stories of the history the ship and also all the passengers have a possibility to visit the ship’s engine room where our engine master tells about the function of steam engine in practice.

The ABC of Kayaking Tour
Have you ever dreamed of kayaking but never dared or had the opportunity to try it? This program offers a solution. In the program, you’ll safely learn the basics of kayaking and safety factors under the guidance of an experienced kayaking instructor.

Dinner served in igloo
You will also have a special Arctic Lake Dinner to be served at the igloo. Dinner includes local Lake Oulujärvi fish, potatoes and salad from local fields and lingonberry dessert.
