Day 1 - Arrival in Kajaani
As you arrive at Kajaani Airport, the crisp Arctic air and sparkling snow-covered landscape welcome you, hinting at the adventures ahead. If you’ve arranged transportation through us, a friendly driver will meet you ath the airport and drive you to your cozy accommodation in Vuokatti.
Once checked in, take some time to unwind and soak up the serene winter atmosphere. Stroll through the snow-covered surroundings, admire frosted trees, and breathe in the crisp Arctic air. This is your first taste of the magical Arctic Lakeland, setting the stage for the adventures to come. In the evening, enjoy a cozy dinner at the hotel restaurant, before settling in for a restful night.
Day 2 - Snowshoe Adventure in winter wonderland
Start your morning with a tasty breakfast before preparing for your guided snowshoeing adventure. The adventure trek starts at 10:30 AM, taking you across sparkling snowfields and winding forest trails through pristine Arctic wilderness. Transportation to the activity is self-arranged. Your guide will lead you through snowy forest and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to stop and capture the stunning scenery with your camera. You will hear fascinating stories about the history and nature of the Vuokatti area.
After the tour, return to your hotel for some relaxation or enjoy free time to explore more of Vuokatti, perhaps warming up with a hot drink at a local café.
Day 3 - Snowmobile Thrills in the Arctic
Today brings an adrenaline-filled snowmobile safari! The adventure begins at 10:00 AM and transportation to the activity is self-arranged. After a safety briefing, hop onto your snowmobile and speed across snowy fields, winding forest trails, and frozen lakes, feeling the exhilaration of the Arctic landscapes rushing past. The safari includes a stop at Haapala, where you’ll enjoy a warming lunch surrounded by pristine winter scenery. Capture the moments, breathe in the crisp air, and soak up the thrill of gliding through untouched snow.
The afternoon offers free time for optional activities or simply relaxing back at the hotel, reflecting on the morning’s adventure.
Day 4 - Husky Adventures
Get ready for day filled with excitement and one of the region’s most beloved winter experiences!
Start your morning at a relaxed pace — enjoy a delicious breakfast and take your time to relax. Your activity runs from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM: a visit to a husky farm with the chance to try dog sledding. Transportation is self-arranged. Once at the farm, our guide will give instructions on driving a dog sled. The trail winds through snow-covered fields and serene forest paths.
During the 6 km safari, you can switch drivers so everyone gets a turn. Afterwards, enjoy some hot Finnish berry juice and grilled sausages to warm up.
After the activity, make your own way back to the hotel, change clothes, maybe have a meal at one of the hotel’s restaurants or head to the Katinkulta Spa to enjoy the warm pools and saunas in the tropical ambiance.
Day 5 - End of the trip
Unfortunately, this wonderful winter adventure comes to an end today. It’s time to say goodbye and begin your journey home, with memories that will last a lifetime. Starting the day with a delicious breakfast and perhaps taking a final stroll through the beautiful winter landscapes is the perfect way to soak in your last moments in Vuokatti.

Snowshoe Adventure 2h
Snowshoe adventure is the perfect way to explore Vuokatti’s winter landscape authentically. We’ll start by teaching you how to use the snowshoes. Then your local guide leads you to the snowy forest where you can enjoy amazing winter scenery. You will hear interesting stories about the history and nature of the Vuokatti area.
Along the way, we’ll enjoy some hot drinks during the relaxing break. The route length is about 2 km. Perfect for families and groups!

Lunch safari to Haapala on snowmobiles 3h30min
Have an unforgettable winter activity day on our snowmobiling safari with the lead of our experienced local guides. This snowmobile safari brings you the best our region has to offer for snowmobiling. We drive up to the Vuokatti hills, then move on to the most beautiful forest trails full of thick snow, and lastly, we enjoy some gorgeous frozen lake trails along this route. Halfway destination is Haapala BnB where we will enjoy the lunch of the day.
Lunch includes salad, soup, main course and dessert.
We drive with new 2026 Touring model snowmobiles, which are quiet, environmentally friendly and provide a comfortable modern ride for both driver and passenger. The route length is about 40 km.
Husky farm visit and dog sledding (Self-drive) 2h
This magical husky safari a must-try experience in Vuokatti! Meet the friendly huskies, eager to guide you through snow-covered fields and peaceful forest trails. Midway through the safari, adults have the chance to switch drivers, ensuring that everyone gets an opportunity to experience the thrill of leading the dog team. Towards the end of the adventure, you’ll take a break to enjoy some warm Finnish berry juice and grilled sausages—perfect for warming up after the ride! The guides will share insights about the Alaskan huskies, their abilities, and life in the kennel, and there will be time for photos as well.
