Experience the silence of the Eastern border on a guided boat trip. Later in evening you will have a chance to see and photograph brown bears in their natural habitat. Weekly departures 10.6.-12.8.2021 on Thursdays (min. 2 persons).

Lake Öllörinjärvi is situated just next to the Finland-Russian border. It is a unique place where water belongs to Finland but the opposite bank is no man’s land. We will make a short boat trip to the lake by a small boat with a silent electric motor. We can see some Finnish-Russian border signs and Finnish border guard tower from the boat. This lake is popular nesting place for birds and sometimes you can see an elk or a bear swimming over the lake. If we are lucky we might see some birds and animals or at least we get to enjoy the beautiful lake scenery and the silence of the wilderness.

After the boat trip we will have lunch at Martinselkonen Wilderness Centre and then, at 5 pm you will set off on a bear watching excursion to the wilderness. You will spend the evening in safe wooden hide with an expert guide. During the evening you will have a good chance to see several bears, maybe also playful bear cubs. The guide will tell you about bears and a light evening snack is served. The evening hide can take 10 persons. The hide has a seat and photography hole for everyone and an eco toilet. Walking distance to the hide is about 500 meters in forest trail, wet places are covered with wooden trails.
